"OPAL'S GOLD"   Oil     9" X 12"
Painting horses was my first art love. We owned many  while living in Southern California but gave them up when we moved to Minnesota.  I still attend equine events whenever I can find the time.

I studied this beautiful, young horse at a show.  I left the background plain to better show off his color and attitude.
I photographed this team while at a winter fest horse pull. The temperature was almost -20. The horses and the drivers are used to this as much of their work is done in winter.
This is my husband's favorite horse Opals Gold. She always found the best shade and the coolest breeze when she rested.
This is my husbands favorite horse 'Opals Gold'. She mothered the prettiest babies. This is Phantom Fox or "Fanny" as we called her.
This is a very handsome mustang that a dear friend adopted. I felt compelled to 'set him free' in this work but I have a feeling that he would rather be with her.
These are working horses that live not too far from us. They do enjoy their days off.
