"WOOD DUCKS"        12" X  16"
These are three decoys form my personal collection. I set them on an antique Singer sewing machine and backed them with a tapestry of a hunting scene. I really enjoy painting variations of wood and this gave me a great reason to do so. I have already set up another still life using one of the ducks and will complete that soon.
This painting won best of show at the WAOW International Juried show in Biloxi, MS.
I borrowed the bowls from a museum. I have other similar reference that I would like to eventually incorporate into still lifes of the Anisazi.

I do not have a terrific photo of this image and it shows some light blead that is not on the original painting.

This is a waterhole in the Masai Mari Plains. Not far from this spot we saw hippopotamus. The skies were really amazing and you could constantly see rain storms develop, move across the scape and then disappear. The ground was rugged and we crossed this river several times looking for leopard, which was one of the few animals we didn't; have time to find - next time.

I really enjoy painting still lifes and landscapes and will be doing more of them in the future. I collect decoys among other stuff and enjoy traveling so these are the work of my whimsy.
